Open Line Topic: In light of the Pope resigning, many are attributing spiritual significance to the fact that this is the first time in over 600 years a Pope has done this, the purported prophecy from St. Malachy from 1139A.D. saying there will only be 248 more Pope’s before “the end” (Pope Benedict XVI is the 247^th), as well as the news report that on the very day the pope announced his resignation, the Vatican was struck by lightning on the Cross atop St. Peter’s Basilica.

Are these things just a coincidence (as I believe) or do you think there is something more going on here of some type of spiritual significance?
